Project Description:
Cover design for an essay by artist Maria Lepistö, written as a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure; a format of storytelling was popular in 80’s in fantasy and sci-fi pulp books. Each page ends with questions that lets reader choose how the story proceeds.
Design Process:
The essays present a 10 year long artistic research about an existing scientific archive of animal sounds. For its cover, I wanted to combine the retro aesthetics of 80’s science fiction with a contemporary twist. With a close up shot of a finger pressing a button, it captures the act of recording.
Goals: Create material print diffusion for performance art exhibition, in Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen. May 2022.
